Land Bank

Purpose

The purpose of the Anthony Land Bank is to eliminate blight and enhance neighborhood stability within the city limits of Anthony, Kansas by efficiently acquiring, holding, managing, transforming and conveying surplus city properties and other abandoned, tax-foreclosed, or otherwise underutilized or distressed properties into productive and beneficial property as required by K.S.A. 12-5901. The Land Bank will be a valuable tool for improving the vacant and dilapidated properties, possibly leading to much-needed housing and economic development within Anthony.

How to Purchase Land Bank Property

Step 1: Check Eligibility

Before applying, ensure you meet the following:

No delinquent property taxes or city fees
No recent history of code violations

Step 2: Find Your Property

We may offer different types of properties (as the Land Bank becomes more established, additional properties will be added):

Non-Buildable Lots (small lots, often for adjacent owners)
Buildable Residential Lots
Commercial/Industrial Lots
Properties with Existing Structures

What Happens After You Apply?

1. The Anthony Land Bank Board of Trustees reviews your Application and any other applications.

2. The Anthony Land Bank Board of Trustees makes the final decision.

3. If approved, construction or improvements must start within 6 months.

Properties are sold as-is without warranties.
All taxes, maintenance, and utilities must stay current after purchase.
Failure to meet project deadlines or maintain properties may cause property reversion back to the Anthony Land Bank.
